Youths in Yobe have intensified calls for the emergence of a youthful and visionary leader ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The youths said the appeal reflects growing demand for renewed energy and leadership aligned with modern governance.

They urged Gov. Mai Mala Buni to support a successor capable of consolidating existing achievements while introducing innovative ideas.

According to them, the momentum signals readiness among citizens, particularly young people, to embrace a new generation of leadership.

The group identified Dr. Babagana Mohammed Adam, Managing Director of the Nigeria Food Corporation, as a potential candidate with the desired qualities.

They described him as a professional with a track record of community development and commitment to public service.

The youths noted that his competence, humility and leadership style had earned him widespread respect across the state.

They added that his name continued to feature prominently in discussions among young people seeking credible leadership alternatives.

The development, they said, aligns with recent reports by The Punch highlighting increasing youth involvement in Nigeria’s political process.

They expressed optimism that the growing calls would encourage capable individuals to respond to the aspirations of the people.
