Jimeta re-elected Chairman Yola-North LG
The incumbent Chairman of Yola North Local Government Area, Barrister Jibril Ibrahim Jimeta of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been officially declared the winner of the just-concluded local government council elections.
Mr Denis Paul, the Returning Officer for the election, announced that Jimeta scored a total of 89,987 votes, defeating his closest rivals from other political parties.
He said, Audu Jibrin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 8,241 votes, while Abubakar Ahmadu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) scored 5,423 votes.
“Having Satisfy with the requirements of the law, Jibril Ibrahim Jimeta is here by declared a winner of the election”, he said.
Poul said, the process of the election was in line with electoral guidelines and conducted by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) across all 21 local government areas of the state.
In his acceptance speech, Barrister Jimeta expressed gratitude to the people of Yola North for re-electing him for the second time.
He described the victory as a reflection of the people’s confidence in his administration.
Jimeta further pledged to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and to continue prioritizing development, good governance, and service delivery in the area.
Jimeta also commended residents for maintaining peace and order throughout the electoral process.
