VC Yobe State University advises students to be self-reliant
Professor Mohammed Daura, the Vice Chancellor (VC) Yobe State University Damaturu, advised Students to always participate in skills acquisition programmes in order to be self reliant after graduation.
Daura made the call on Tuesday in Damaturu during a Students’ Summit organised by National Union of Yobe State Students (NUYOSS), titled: ‘Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development.’
Daura represented at occasion by Dr. Bukar Jamri, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Central Administration, revealed that government had no capacity to accommodate all graduates in the civil service.
He therefore said, the only way forward was to venture into entrepreneurship.
The VC further also said the Yobe State University had a Center for Entrepreneurship, which was mainly to train students on skills acquisition programmes to become self reliant after graduation.
Daura appreciated the efforts of National Union of Yobe State Students (NUYOSS), Yobe State University Damaturu Chapter under the leadership of Comr. Abubakar Goji and urged them to always serve as good examples.
