NAN MD promises to upgrade agency’s facilities, enhanced staff welfare
Malam Ali M. Ali, the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), has promised to upgrade the agency’s facilities to enhance its operations.
Ali stated this on Tuesday during an inspection tour of the agency’s facilities in Damaturu, Yobe.
He pledged to overhaul its offices nationwide, provide essential working tools, and build the capacity of staff through training and improved welfare packages.
The managing director underscored the importance of productivity and warned that the agency would not condone laxity.
Also, Mr Ephraims Sheyin, the Editor-in-Chief of the agency, tasked reporters to focus on human angle and development stories.
While cautioning against over reliance on press statements, Sheyin urged them to pririotise coverage of commercial activities, especially in rural communities.
