The Bauchi State chapter of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has strongly criticized the recent appeal made by Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, son of Gov. Bala Mohammed, to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, for youth empowerment initiatives in Bauchi State.

In a statement signed by the party’s State Secretary, Wada Abdullahi, the PRP described Shamsuddeen’s request as a troubling indication of the failure of the Bala Mohammed administration to address unemployment and poverty among Bauchi youths.

The party questioned why the son of a sitting governor would turn to the son of the president for solutions that should be provided by his father’s government.

“It is shameful that Mr. Shamsuddeen is calling upon Seyi Tinubu to fill the gaps left by his father’s administration.

“Such an appeal not only underscores the shortcomings in the governance of Bauchi State but also reflects an unwillingness to hold accountable those in positions of power who are responsible for the well-being of their constituents,” the statement read.

The PRP also accused Gov. Mohammed of actively worsening the economic plight of young entrepreneurs in Bauchi by demolishing numerous business structures without providing alternatives.

The party argued that the state government should be focused on creating opportunities for the youth rather than shifting responsibilities to individuals outside the government.

Furthermore, the PRP warned that the persistent issues of poverty, hunger, and joblessness among Bauchi youths are direct consequences of failed governance at both state and federal levels.

The party urged Seyi Tinubu to understand that temporary handouts cannot solve the systemic problems caused by ineffective leadership.

As the 2027 elections approach, the PRP emphasized that the electorate, especially the youth, will not be swayed by short-term palliatives.

They vowed that voters would hold leaders accountable for their governance failures.
