NDC Bauchi rejects money politics, pushes mass mobilisation

The Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared that it will resist any attempt by wealthy individuals to hijack its structure, emphasizing its commitment to internal stability, inclusiveness, and credible leadership.
State Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigari Misau, made the declaration during the party’s maiden meeting of leaders in Bauchi, noting that the NDC remains free from litigation and internal crises, a development he described as a strong foundation for growth.
He stressed that the party is open to all progressive-minded Nigerians who are genuinely committed to national development and the welfare of citizens.
According to him, the NDC is determined to provide a credible alternative platform capable of addressing the country’s socio-economic challenges.
Misau called on party leaders across the 20 local government areas of the state to intensify efforts toward grassroots mobilisation, particularly through an aggressive membership registration drive.
He noted that the response from citizens has been encouraging, with many expressing interest in joining the party as it positions itself as a strong opposition force.
“We are working towards mass mobilisation through membership registration, as more people continue to identify with our vision for a better Nigeria,” he said.
The chairman further assured party members and prospective aspirants of a level playing field, adding that the leadership has put in place effective mechanisms to prevent internal disputes and unnecessary litigations.
He urged citizens to have confidence in the party, reiterating its readiness to accommodate new members and foster unity, transparency, and accountability in its operations.
The NDC, he added, remains focused on building a formidable political movement driven by integrity and a shared commitment to national progress.
He said the party leadership reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening internal democracy by promoting transparency in decision-making processes and encouraging active participation of members at all levels.
Misau noted that building trust within the party remains a top priority, adding that unity among members would be critical in achieving its long-term political objectives.
He also highlighted the importance of issue-based politics, urging members to focus on policies and programmes that directly impact the lives of citizens rather than engaging in divisive or personality-driven campaigns.
The Chairman stressed that NDC is determined to redefine political engagement in the state by prioritising good governance, accountability, and sustainable development.
