The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Yobe has called for a stronger partnership with the state government to enhance public awareness of government policies, programmes and development initiatives.

The State Director of NOA, Hajiya Zuwaira Mohammed Ali, made the call during a congratulatory visit to the Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Mohammed Goje, in Damaturu.

Ali congratulated Goje on his appointment and described him as a capable administrator whose performance as Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) demonstrated commitment to the development of the state.

She said the agency remained committed to supporting the state government through the promotion of its policies, programmes and activities, particularly in the areas of value reorientation and attitudinal change.

According to her, such efforts are essential to achieving sustainable development and prosperity across the state.

The NOA director appealed to the state government to support the agency’s public mobilisation and awareness creation campaigns to enable it to effectively discharge its mandate.

She said strengthened collaboration between the agency and the government would improve citizens’ understanding of government initiatives and encourage greater public participation in development programmes.

Responding, Goje welcomed the NOA delegation and described the agency as a strategic partner in the government’s efforts to promote development and good governance.

He acknowledged the agency’s role in shaping public attitudes and disseminating information on government programmes and policies.

The acting SSG assured the agency of the continued support of the Yobe Government under Gov. Mai Mala Buni, stressing the administration’s commitment to the effective implementation of NOA’s mandate in the state.

The visit featured the presentation of publications on the NOA National Identity Project and copies of the reintroduced National Anthem to the acting SSG.
