NOA Kicks Off Nationwide Sensitization Campaign

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has commenced a nationwide sensitization campaign aimed at addressing critical issues such as HIV/AIDS, security, ethical values, and tax reforms.

The NOA Director General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu made this known while flagging off a nationwide sensitisation campaign on security consciousness and get-rich-quick syndrome on Wednesday in Damaturu.

Issa-Onilu, represented by Malam Nura Yusuf Kobi, Director Planning, Research and Strategy, the DG said the campaign seeks to mobilize Nigerians to unite in addressing these challenges and fostering a more informed, secure, and ethical society.

He explained key areas of focus for the campaign to include promoting HIV testing, treatment, and prevention, as well as combating stigma and discrimination.

The DG encouraged citizens to be vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate with law enforcement.

Other areas according to him were promoting ethical values, hard work, and entrepreneurship, educating citizens about their rights and responsibilities, as well as encouraging respect for human dignity.

He added that the campaign would explaining the benefits of tax reforms and encouraging citizens to comply with tax obligations.

Malam Issa-Onilu said NOA was collaborating with various stakeholders, including traditional leaders, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and the media, to ensure the success of the campaign.

He added that by reaching out to communities across Nigeria, the agency aims to create a positive impact and contribute to national development.
