FCE Yola excels in ICPC’s due process compliance check

The Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola, Adamawa, scored ‘A’ in terms of adherence to due process in the last system check by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Dr Mohammed Dagereji, Provost of the college disclosed this at the 3rd staff dialogue and productivity award night on Saturday in Yola.

He said that the management would continue to maintain quality for the development of the college.

“All these achievements recorded in the college would not have been possible without transparency and accountability.

“That is why the ICPC in the deployment of Ethics and Integrity Compliance Score-Card (EICS), analysed and scored the College 71 per cent for compliance, ” he said.

Dagereji said the management was concerned about the welfare of students and staff, hence, a lot of progress had been achieved in the college.

“After students and staff welfare, we want to ensure there is adherence to due process in whatever we are doing,

“we want to be transparent and accountable no matter what challenges we are going to encounter,” he said.

The provost said electricity, security and erosion were identified as part of the challenges faced in the college.

He urged the staff to be objective and consider the college first before anything in identifying some of the challenges in 2025 toward addressing them in 2026.

Dagereji also disclosed that the collage had been registered in the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal for students to choose for degree programmmes.

Malam Abdulkadir Jauro, Acting Director, Works and Services in the college said the college had recorded more achievements in the area of landscape works and re-organising commercial areas.

He added that there plans were underway for the construction of public toilets and flowering.

According to him, the college spent N69.3 million on electricity in 2024, but it dropped to N49.9 million in 2025 due to management’s commitment for another source.

He added that the problem of water supply had been resolved adding that the college currently enjoyed zero supply from outside.

In his remark, Dr Rufa’i Abubakar, the Collage Bursar explained that the college had succeeded in settling the 2023/2024 promotion, unlike other colleges in the country.

He attributed most of the achievements recorded in the college to good management of financial resources and adherence to due process.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at the gathering the provost presented award to 10 staff for their outstanding performance and dedication to service in 2025.

Dr Hamma-Adama Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the recipients, thanked the management for the award and assured readiness to work harder.

He called on all staff to always fear God Almighty in the discharge of their respective duties.
