The Yobe Young Leaders Forum (YYLF), in collaboration with youth stakeholders, has urged Dr. Abubakar Garba Iliya to contest the state’s governorship election.

The State Coordinator of YYLF, Amb. Muhammed Hashim Aliyu, made the call shortly after a stakeholders’ meeting on Wednesday in Damaturu.

Aliyu said the call followed Iliya’s contributions to community development projects and his support for the administration of Gov. Mai Mala Buni across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.

He said Iliya, Director, Administration and Finance at the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), had facilitated infrastructural development across various communities in the state.

Aliyu also commended the Buni administration for its efforts in human capital development, socio-economic growth and infrastructure.

Also speaking, Chairman of the YYLF Local Organising Committee, Comrade Abdullahi Usman Galadima, said the forum mobilised participants across the 17 Local Government Areas, including youths and women.

Galadima said the youths were satisfied with the initiative and had expressed readiness to support the movement.
