Transport institute confers honorary fellowship on AAAU VC

The Chartered Institute of Transport Administrators of Nigeria (CITAN) has inducted the Acting Vice-Chancellor of African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Dr Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, as an honorary fellow.

The induction took place on Tuesday at the university’s campus in Abuja during a ceremony that also featured a professional workshop for staff.

The workshop, themed “Sustainable Aviation Development and the Role of Professional Certification,” was held at the Festus Keyamo Auditorium of the institution.

In a keynote address, the Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Dr Danjuma Ismaila Adamu, stressed the need for continuous training, regulatory compliance and sustainability in the aviation sector.

Adamu said sustainable aviation development and professional certification remained critical to advancing industry standards and ensuring global competitiveness.

He noted that capacity building and adherence to best practices would strengthen Nigeria’s aviation industry and enhance its contribution to economic growth.

Abdullahi and Adamu, key stakeholders at the event, pledged to promote innovation, deepen collaboration and uphold global standards in advancing sustainable aviation and transport systems across Nigeria and Africa.

Abdullahi was conferred with the honorary fellowship of CITAN alongside other newly inducted members of the institute.
