APC Primaries: Gov. Fintiri Wins Adamawa Northern senatorial seat

Govenor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has won the primary election for Adamawa Northern Senatorial District under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), says Mr Wilfred William, the returning officer.

William disclosed this at the end of the collation in Mubi-North Local Government Area, said the election was conducted across the five LGAs in the zone; Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi-North and Mubi-South.

He said, a total number of 292,070 votes were cast across the five LGAs, 292,070 accredited and 174,514, votes casted.

He said Fintiri scored 160,579 votes to defeat his closest contestant Hamisu Medugu who scored 6,977 followed by Abdulrahaman Kwacham who scored 6,958 votes.

“Having satisfied with the recurrent, Fintiri scored the highest votes and hereby declared the winner and returned elected for the Adamawa Northern Senatorial District”, he said.

Similarly in Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, Dr Felix Tangwami also announced as the winner while for Adamawa Central the election was postponed to a later date.
