Yobe Govt trains 4,000 newly employed staff for efficiency, service delivery

The Yobe Government has organised an orientation workshop for 4,000 newly employed staff drawn from across 178 Political wards.

The training aims to equip the new employees with the essential skills, knowledge, and values needed for effective service delivery in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.

Yobe state Head of Service, Hamidu Alhaji stated while declaring the orientation training open on Friday in Damaturu.

He said the training facilitated by CEES Assist Resources Ltd was meant to build the capacity of the new employees and bring them together for interaction and sharing of ideas.

The Head of Service explained that the training is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of civil service structures and functions, equip participants with essential skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making, among others.

“The newly employed staff who are drawn across 178 Political wards of the 17 Local Government Areas in the state attended the orientation workshop at the designated centers across the three senatorial districts of the state,” Alhaji said.

He enjoined the participants to pay rapt attention to all the presentations by resource persons and ensure that they contribute meaningfully to the discussion and other relevant aspects of the training for it to be successful.

He also thanked His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni for his support to the development of the state civil service.

Earlier, Alhaji Shayubu Amshi, the Permanent Secretary Establishment said the employment of young Degree, HND, NCE, and Diploma holders was an important part of the present administration’s effort to reinvigorate the civil service.

“Giving our youth jobs in the civil service not only reduces unemployment but is also a clear indication of the present administration plan to fill in vacuums created massive retirement across all cadres,” he said.
