
Sen. Buba boosts Islamic learning with N27.5M project in madugu village

In a significant gesture of support for religious education, Senator Shehu Buba representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, has donated N27.5 million to Markazi Ahlissunnah Wal Jama’a Islamic School in Madugu village, Rimin Zayam, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The announcement was made during the school’s Qur’anic graduation ceremony, which celebrated 32 students, including nine who memorized the entire Holy Qur’an and 23 others who completed the recitation of the 60 Hizb.
From the school’s submitted requests, Senator Buba committed N25 million towards the construction of a mosque and toilet facilities.
He further donated N2 million to the graduating students and N500,000 to a schoolteacher who composed a tribute song in his honor.
Speaking at the event, Senator Buba emphasized the importance of embracing the teachings of the Holy Qur’an while also encouraging students to seek broader knowledge beyond religious studies.
“I consider myself an integral part of this school. Every two years, we celebrate the graduation of students who have memorized the Qur’an or learned to recite it fluently. It brings me immense pride,” he stated.
The ceremony was also graced by the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, represented by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Rimin Zayam.
The governor pledged to complete the construction of additional classrooms and to fence the school for security, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to both religious and formal education.
District Head of Toro, Alhaji Umar Adamu Toro, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the parents and school authorities, commending both Senator Buba and Governor Mohammed for their dedication to education in Bauchi State.
The event saw the presence of numerous dignitaries and community leaders. Among notable contributions were a classroom block pledged by AYM Shafa, N250,000 from Dr. Abdullahi Dabo, N200,000 from Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Rimin Zayam, and N200,000 from Hon. Isma’ila Haruna, member of the House of Representatives.
