By Ahmed Isah
Yobe Government has ordered the shutdown of all boarding secondary schools to protect students amid rising security concerns.
A statement from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education said the action followed a security review meeting between Gov. Mai Mala Buni and security chiefs in the state.
The notice, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Bukar Aji Bukar, directed the immediate closure of all boarding secondary schools until the situation improves.
Buni urged residents to offer prayers for leaders, security agencies, peace and enhanced safety across the country.
The statement was issued by Mamman Mohammed, Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor.
