Breaking: Gov Buni Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage for Yobe Workers
By Baba Dan’Iya
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the implementation of a N70,000 minimum wage for state civil servants, effective December 2024.
A statement by the Governor’s Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, on Saturday said the decision followed recommendations from a state government committee on minimum wage.
The committee had also recommended a reconciliation of local government finances to facilitate a smooth transition to the new wage structure. This process is nearing completion and is expected to be finalized soon.
The government urged civil servants to reciprocate the gesture by committing to efficient and effective service delivery.
