The Managing Director of the Nigeria Food Corporation (NFC), Dr. Babagana Mohammed Adam, says his initiatives are to complement Gov. Mai Mala Buni’s development efforts in Yobe.
Adam stated this on Saturday during a working visit to Potiskum Local Government Area of the state.
He said plans to upgrade the Nigeria Flour Mills in Potiskum were aligned with the state government’s economic development agenda.
According to him, the expansion will boost productivity and create employment opportunities for youths.
Adam emphasised that his interventions were designed to support the policies and programmes of the Buni administration.
He said the NFC would also implement a Farm Estate Initiative to empower farmers with funding, inputs and technical assistance.
Adam noted that the programme would strengthen food security and improve livelihoods across the state.
He reiterated his commitment to working in synergy with the state government to achieve sustainable development.
The NFC boss also visited the Potiskum Correctional Centre, where he facilitated the release of inmates by settling fines.
He said the gesture was aimed at supporting rehabilitation efforts and promoting social inclusion.
Adam donated medical supplies to the centre and provided transport stipends to the released inmates.
He later visited the Emir of Fika and the Emir of Potiskum to seek royal blessings for ongoing initiatives.
At the Potiskum Emirate, Adam was conferred with the traditional title of Zannah Boma in recognition of his contributions to development.
He described the honour as a call to do more in supporting government’s efforts to improve the well-being of the people.
Adam concluded his visit with a meeting with APC executives in Zone B to strengthen grassroots engagement.
He reaffirmed NFC’s commitment to agricultural transformation and economic growth in alignment with the state government’s vision.
